THE LEGACY

From a young age, E Josiah has shown influential leadership qualities. Upon E Josiah's return home to Birmingham, AL after 7 years, he made his first stop back to his middle school, W. J. Christian. He was invited by the athletic director as a keynote speaker for their spring sports banquet. There, he was presented with his jersey signifying that it had been retired.

His first encounter with his athletic trainer of 7 years, Otis Leverette, was during a team workout at Ramsay High School (Birmingham, AL) in the summer of 2012. During the duration of the workout, Coach Otis put E Josiah on a treadmill to test his ability to endure past tough circumstances. Through this encounter, Coach Otis knew that E Josiah was cut from a different cloth. That same season, the program conducted a players vote for team captain which resulted in E Josiah becoming team captain of the Varsity football team during his freshman year. He maintained this leadership role not only on the field but off the field for four consecutive years. E Josiah impactfully continues to give back to his alma mater and community in Birmingham, AL.
